Sale Timing/Schedule

For this year, the store will open 2/8/24 at 6 PM PST. This sale will add inventory of varieties sold in the December sale AND will add many varieties that we have smaller numbers of.  We will give plenty of notice of this sale through our email list, website, and social media pages.  Store will close for the season 5/31/24

Tax

By law, we must collect sales tax.  Sales tax will be added at checkout

Payment

Payment will be made via major credit card or ApplePay through this website.  We are unable to accept Paypal at this time.

Quantity limits

On popular or limited stock items, we reserve the right to limit quantities purchased per customer/order.

Returns: Due to Phytosanitary reasons, we are unable to accept returns.  Please order carefully!

Ordering Tips:

Dahlia Madness is real, and the hours after sales open can be crazy!  Having an item in your cart DOES NOT reserve that item.  It is possible that an item that is in your cart may sell out before you check out.  We cannot control this, as this is a function of our inventory management software.

Helpful Hints

  • Credit Card Customers: Have your computer/device setup for autofill for quicker checkout. Also: confirm your credit card number stored in your autofill is correct, and not expired- it happens!

  • If using other forms of payment (ApplePay etc.) make sure your account is setup and ready to go before the sale goes live

  • If you are wanting a specific variety, immediately purchasing that variety may be a viable option, even if this means making multiple orders

  • Although our website is mobile friendly, in the hours after a sale opens, some mobile carriers struggle to keep connection to our servers.  This is not a "website issue" but one based on your service provider.  We recommend using a hardwired internet connection for fastest results.

Shipping

Timing: All orders will be shipped using USPS, in the order in which they were placed, and be charged on a per order basis.  We will be able to combine shipping of orders that are to the Same Customer AND Same AddressNote: that you will be charged for shipping at checkout, but we will refund the lesser shipping charge at time of shipment. We will also post a cutoff date for combined shipping, after which we cannot combine orders. Please use an address that you receive mail at daily.  Shipping will begin in late March/Early April, when the risk of frost in the customer’s growing region has passed.  Shipping will continue through early May or until all orders are fulfilled.  Even though we do our best to ensure the tubers are shipped in a favorable weather window, we cannot be responsible for packages left at your address once delivered. We will post on our social media and website when shipping has begun. You will also receive an email when your order is shipped

Local Pickup:   We are excited to offer local pickup for customers local to the Lynden, WA area.  Pickup Dates will be in Mid-April at a location in Lynden, that is NOT ON THE FARM.  We will email all local pickup customers with a date and times, as well as address for local pickup.  If you would like to pickup your tubers, there is a local pickup option in the checkout process.

Lost/Undeliverable Packages: Orders will be shipped to the address provided at checkout.  Please ensure that this address correct, with no errors.  We are unable to refund shipping charges, if a package is returned, and required to be re-shipped, the customer will be responsible for the shipping charges, or a 25% restocking fee.  If an order is marked as delivered, and you do not see your package, please contact your local USPS office (Post Office).  Often times, if an error on the address has occurred, the package will be held at the local office for pickup.  If an order is lost, and marked by USPS as delivered, we can replace the order at the customer’s expense.

Canadian Orders:

Like US orders, orders shipped to Canada will be delivered via USPS.  North Cascade Dahlias is not responsible for any import tax or duty imposed by customs- this is the customer’s responsibility.  Please understand that shipping charges to Canada are more than US Domestic shipping rates- this is outside our control.  If you would like to place a single order with a group of friends, that is an option to reduce shipping charges.  Remember, this will be shipped as one order.  We will also combine orders to Canada, just like we will for domestic orders- Customer and Address must be IDENTICAL.

We are excited to offer local pickup for our Canadian Customers!  Canadian customers who would like to cross the border into the US and pickup their order may do so.  Doing so will eliminate the time USPS package to go through the customs clearing process.  The process for local pickup in Lynden, WA will be the same as the process for domestic orders, but Canadian pickup orders will still require a Phytosanitary Certificate (and associated $50.00 USD charge) that will need to be presented at the border crossing when returning to Canada.  If you are completing multiple orders, only one Phyto is needed but- all customer information on the invoice must be identical! Please purchase a Phytosanitary certificate in the store if you plan to do this.

Orders that are picked up locally by Canadian customers will be subject to the following:

  • A fee of $50.00 per order to cover the cost of an Agricultural Phytosanitary Inspection and Certificate, provided by USDA for the customer to present upon re-entry into Canada- purchased as its own item in the store

  • NOTE: we will clearly communicate when orders will be ready for pickup.  It is extremely important for these orders to be picked up in a timely manner, as the Phytosanitary Certificate is only valid for 2 weeks after it is issued.  Orders that are not picked up in this window will be subject to another $50.00 fee to reissue the Phytosanitary Certificate

Orders shipped to Canada will be subject to the following:

  • A fee of $50.00 per order to cover the cost of an Agricultural Phytosanitary Inspection and Certificate, provided by USDA for CFIA and included in the shipment.

  • A period of 4-6 weeks for the package to clear customs.  We cannot control this process but guarantee that your order will be shipped with the correct paperwork needed to clear customs.

Gift Cards

We do offer gift cards through our store, which is a great gifting option for the dahlia lover in your life.  Please keep in mind that gift cards do not reserve tubers.

Site Photos

As you can imagine, getting a perfect shot of each and every bloom in our collection is a monumental task!  Although we spent hours taking photos of each bloom, some photos may show blooms "past their prime."  We will add photos and angles of blooms in the next growing season to further our photo collection.  Please understand that all dahlias grown in our field carrying the Bloomquist name were inspected and verified by Paul himself to be true to the type of each variety.

Other Merchandise

We plan on offering North Cascade Dahlias Merchandise- including growing supplies, apparel and other items.  Stay tuned for further announcements!
